When we was down the super market we see Deep Heat and Deep Freeze and we was not sure which to get so we got Deep Heat and seems at the moment relieving the pain so will see how it is in the morning, so Deep Freeze would be better then Jef ?

Hi Jason, Cold for nerves and joints, hot for relaxing muscles. Personally, I find the ice pack loses its effectiveness as soon the cloth is wrapped round it (but you must "never place an ice pack in direct contact with your skin, as it will burn" - apparently). Am a greater fan of just running cold water over the imflammation, far more effective. A football coach once told me that ankle injuries should be treated with alternating hot and cold water dowsing (dipping in buckets). As hot as you can stand, then cold for as long as you can stand, then back in the hot etc... I imagine, if you have a shower over your bath, you cold do the same on your neck with running water, while leaning over the bath. If you decide to see your doctor, he will probably prescribe NSAIDs (Ibuprofen / Naproxen / Voltarol). These are available in tablet (for swallowing) and gel form (for rubbing on the affected area). Both types make noises in my head with very long lasting effects, so I cannot take either because of the very real danger of permanent damage (Tinitus). I tried one Naproxen tablet before Christmas (knee damaged), and had rumbling noises until the start of February . Hope reading this helps, rather than hinders, Jef
