Evening Everyone,
Another thing i have just remember is running down the side of the path under the ground is the gas or electric pipe bringing the supply to the house and if i concrete over that and they need to get to it it's going to be hard .... still thinking wood frame with decking on.

Hello JG, sorry for asking the obvious, but is it possible to move the planned location of the shed away from underground pipes and tree roots, even if it means laying another path leading to the shed? Just another thought but in a previous house we lived in many years ago, I converted the loft and ended up with the mother of all workshops(.It was a BIG loft), Warm, dry, easy access. The bench alone was 15ft long by 3 ft wide. Had an area for storing finished models, a cutting/sanding area. I could go on. Get your thinking cap on Cheers Kev

It might be easier and cheaper to move somewhere with a workshop already installed

Morning, I have worked out how much concrete i need and it's 0.9 cubic metres and that's at 4" thick or it's 53.2 bags of concrete at 80lbs each bag. Just waiting for quotes from the concrete companies now

Jef - My plan of attackis to leave a foot or possible 2 foot the side the pipe is as i have 14 feet to play, and i am hoping to make a start next week.

JG, I`m no expert but that sounds very reasonable.

Kev - That's what i thought, i did check how many bags i would need to do it myself and it came out to around 52 bags and that's just concrete, and that depended on big size.
