Hello Everyone. Just thought i would post this this thread to see how the poor flying weather is we our members Here is Lincolnshire the wind is really blowing and rain is light at the moment, but it did rain really hard about a hour ago, i think it's about time it moved on and let the sun do it's work and dry everywhere up and let us get back to flying .... So Lincolnshire looking good for Sunday so fingers crossed might get down to the club field

How bizarre us both posting such similar subjects at the same time!
Currently gusting to 45.4mph here in Benfleet, Essex (near Southend-on-Sea). WeatherSpark is predicting a cloud-free 15mph breeze on Sunday.
Top up your water butts, it'll be a drought by April... LOL

JG, (and anyone else) your welcome anytime. The Long Mynd is the best bet as there is a variety of slopes for different wind directions. As for me showing you how to slope....ummmm....well, there will be someone around to show you anyway....lol

Bungee / winch are both possible on one of the sites I fly from (no good if there is any West in the wind though). Also, if you have any aerotow models we can do that at another site (no good unless there is mainly west in the wind). You cannot fly bungee or winch easily at the second site because the ground consists of an inch of soil on top of gravel. Unfortunately my club sites would only allow you to fly as my guest, if I was there, to be responsible for you. Give me a week or two's notice and I can guarantee to be with you. Jef

Jef - Sounds like a small electric glider could be easier yeh i would let you know before coming down, but it won't be for a while yet, and the same for Kev when the weather picks up and the sun shines, i will bring my video camera and film some flying and put it on a dvd

Sounds like a good plan Jason. Yes, we can fly electric at any of the club sites I belong to, so the wind direction would not matter.
Getting the thread back on track, windspeed peaked at 60.1mph during the night here, don't want to speak too soon, but no damage - phew!

No rain here at the moment but we did have some showers this morning, it's just the wind blowing a gale here, but i have had a text off a club member saying he will be flying in morning fingers crossed.

Forecast windspeed is dropping away, don't think I will risk going to Thurnham with the Fox again, probably go to Damyn's Hall for a spot of electric flying... might even get to maiden the big wing on the Mistral!
Hope we each get the weather we want. We deserve it!

Blue skies, light winds and sun shining - first decent day for flying down here in Surrey for ages! And I am stuck indoors trying to shake off the dreaded lurgy. C'est La Vie !!

Well we got down to the field this morning and it was too windy to fly, so we called it a day and went home. But this evening looks perfect but too late to fly now
