Just a quick tip, if installing an extension lead in a model, make it very difficult for the plug to come out of the socket - someone's law says that if it can go wrong, it will, and always at the most inconvenient moment. When in Maplin's I picked up some "7mm" heatshrink tubing. This is not quite big enough to fit over a Futaba socket... unless you stretch it's diameter a bit (I slide the tube onto some external circlip pliers and squeeze them a bit bigger). This is what it looks like shrunk and installed in a wing...

Jef & Kev morning.
Yes i have to agree with Kev on this very neat, and to be honest i have always used them plastic push on clips which you can buy to secure the plugs together, but i will use this idea on my new Supra, Thanks Jef.

Yes its a good idea to heat shrink the connectors. What I do is remove the outer part of the socket leaving just the pins ,then plug in the plug from the servo and heatshrink over it all.I bought some green heatshrink from a show and this will go over both plugs now as they are the same width now with the outer removed...I just slit the outer with a knife and it peels off....Chris.
