Hi All
Does anyone here have advice / photos of detail for the instrument panels of a Fox Aerobatic Glider?
Thanks for looking.

Kev Have now used the pics from the links, to reasonably good effect. Thanks for the help. My son's Fox, which had an unfortunate arrival on its maiden outing in 2013, is now repaired and finished. Ready for us to break again Jef

Hi Jef, Glad the links were of some use and sorry to hear about your sons Fox. Lets hope the `new` maiden` goes a LOT better. Out of interest, what happened on that first um....... shall we say....arrival? ( we have all had um ), what was the damage? Forgive me for being nosey jef, its only because I have had quite a few eventful landings over the years so may be I can learn from others. My biggest problem is judging distances on that final landing leg/turn. Makes the hobby interesting though Cheers.

Hi Jef, ....Out of interest, what happened on that first um....... shall we say....arrival? ( we have all had um ), what was the damage? Forgive me for being nosey jef, its only because I have had quite a few eventful landings over the years so may be I can learn from others.... Yes of course, Kev. The maiden session was on Father's Day at Thurnham, North Kent, conditions were light. Unfortunately 95% of my flying experience has been with very efficient thermal soarers, so (although I rarely do the walk of shame), I get caught out occasionally with models that are not capable of doing what I have come to expect! , Launched the model on its second flight, having dialled in a bit of down trim, following the first quite uneventful flight... The air keeping the model aloft gradually disappeared and, before I had done anything sensible about it, like getting back onto the hill near the launch point, it went beneath the horizon. Then it went below the fence line, at which point I was losing faith in the conditions coming good again and saving my embarrassment. As "landing out" was now inevitable, I started walking towards the fence. The model went lower and lower and, thinking I could land on the foot of the hillside, started flying left to right and was rather surprised when I thought I could fly the model beyond a bush to land further to the right... and the model didn't emerge from the rightside of the bush, but stopped behind it. When I had made the walk of shame, I found the main undercarriage strut broken, the port wing broken laterally perpendicular to the end of the wing-joiner, port aileron servo gears stripped, port flap servo dismounted but intact, elevator servo dismounted but intact, side windows (behind cockpit) both detached and some very minor cosmetics. Not exactly sure how all the damage occurred, but I reckon it must have something to do with the model hitting the ground at a good variety of angles. Hope this helps. Jef

Hi Jef, Thanks for the story. It`s interesting to read how and why things happen. I guess once you start loosing lift, it`s knowing what the right decision is in that split second.Hind site is a wonderful thing. I suppose it depends on your air speed and height at the time you have to make that decision as to whether you can turn back towards the slope or whether you have to fly out and land out and hope for the best. Sounds like a fair bit of damage but i`m glad it`s now sorted and I bet you`ll make sure there is good lift for the next maiden Well, like I said, we`ve all done it and I`m sure you`ve learnt from it. Lets face it, If all our flights went perfectly, we would have nothing to do in the workshop and end up having to go shopping with the good lady Bye for now
