The new Bartlett's Rules make for the first level playing field competition of electric glider duration events. The rules penalise those that exceed the target launch height of 200m, with a 3seconds per metre over 200m deficit on the flight scores. A ten metre graduated landing circle is used, with 50 points for a landing within a metre, and reducing by 5points every metre less accurate than that. Even those with heavy old design gliders can do well, it really does depend on where you fly, rather than what you fly. And with everyone starting at the same height, you can soon see where the best air is, and where the worst air is. What you do with that information is completely down to you, of course! Anyone can run a comp to Bartlett's Rules, so if you fancy having a friendly comp for the fliers in your area, post here and I will try to answer any questions you may have.
