Hi everyone.
The Little Bentley Polo Pitch is an absolutely first rate flying field, whether flying electric, hand or winch launched models.
If you have a competitive streak, and a thermal glider, then I can recommend attending these comps at this site. If you want to come along and chat before committing to competing, then you won't be alone either.
Don't feel that your model is going to be out-classed either. A 2m electric glider achieved an impressive second place on Sunday 31st Aug... And the model that won the comp was more than 16 years old. A DLG came 6th overall and won half the slots it flew in, as the rules make the lower launch height, and smaller span, less of a disadvantage than you might think.
The mown grass and flat, smooth surface is great for discus launching from too, which can be a problem at other sites.
Being a few miles east from the A12, along the A120, the site is well positioned for Essex, Hertfordshire and Suffolk fliers.
Keep an eye out for comps there!

For anyone interested in DLGs, Winch Launching and Electric gliders, there is a MLG comp on at the Little Bentley polo pitch tomorrow (Sun 26th Oct).
The comp is going to start at 09.00 GMT - so it's a good job we get an extra hour between now and then!
