I am new to this forum and would like to take this opportunity to say 'hello' to all the forum members. I fly with a group of like minded slope soaring enthusiasts based in and around Sussex. We go out most weekends and we post weekly flying reports and post video's etc about the sport and how we can get more people involved in our local area. If any of you are based around the South East and would like to join us at any time or you might just be Interested in the things we are up to, you can visit our blog: slopesoaringsussex.blogspot.co.uk/ We are all BMFA Insured and nearly all of us belong to one of the many model flying clubs based in the Sussex area. Slope soaring is my main passion but I recently started flying DLG's. We are also planning a group trip up to the Blwch in South Wales in early April. Nice to catch up with you all. Cheers Paul.

Hi Paul,
Not too far away from you, I live in Essex. We have one slope which works in a southerly a few minutes from home, but often (probably only every 4 months or so) nip down to the South Downs for a fly. Love Firle, been there a couple of times, Devil's Dyke is brilliant if you can get there when the PG fliers are not there. Last time I drove there and didn't fly as the place was swarming with duvets. Round trip 185 miles. Could you post here when you're definitely going flying, and I will come along and meet you, if at all possible.
Jef

Lovely atmosphere at Ditchling Beacon this morning, nice and warm (shame the weather was so cold!), thanks guys. Good to meet you all. Sorry I got my second landing approach so wrong . Well done for all ducking as one, on the command "Heads!" Hope the winch serves you all well. See you again soon. Jef Attachments:

Hi Jef It was great to see meet you yesterday up on Ditchling Beacon. Let's hope it's not too long before you join us all up on the slope? Jack might be interested in your 'Sharon' glider. Could you email me some pictures of it and I will forward them on to him. Paulhampshire2013@gmail.com Cheers Paul

There is a v-tail Calypso Contest (the t-tail version of which I was flying on Saturday at Ditchling) for sale on BMFA classified ads.
I have known the owner (Neil Harrison) for a couple of decades, and can vouch for the model on the strength of that. It would be an EXCELLENT model for Clint or Jack.
At £200 the price takes into account the model's state, and the original engineering of this model is outstanding (which is why I have three Calypso Contest fuselages, T and V, and 3m and 3.3m wings to suit).
Despite the model design being 17yrs old plus, spares can be bought new, and it is a British design!
Best regards,
Jef
